The Nasdaq has started trading the second Bitcoin (BTC) futures-linked exchange-traded fund in the US. The stock began trading at a price of $25.52 per share on the first day of trading.

According to Nasdaq, Valkyrie’s Bitcoin Strategy ETF, the second exchange-traded fund offering U.S. investors direct exposure to bitcoin futures, beginning at $25.52 per share of BTF before falling 3.3% to $24.66 at the time of writing. The exchange-traded fund is designed to follow the value of Bitcoin futures trading on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

Valkyrie CEO Leah Wald commented, “This Bitcoin Strategy ETF represents a big move forward for this asset class”. “It allows investors to engage in the digital asset markets through a regulated, transparent product that trades on a reputable, dependable exchange. And can be purchased and sold just like any other investment now accessible”, says the company.

The second crypto fund to go public this week is on a major stock market. ProShares’ Bitcoin Strategy ETF debuted on the New York Stock Exchange on Oct. 19, and it has since become a popular investment vehicle. The fund’s assets under management had surpassed $1 billion in less than a week. In addition, the number of futures contracts permitted by the CME is reaching its limit.

Only those with BTC futures exposure have been allowed

On Oct. 15, the Securities and Exchange Commission approved Valkyrie’s ETF registration request for the first time. Shortly after, did the same with ProShares’ shares. Several crypto ETF applications are still being under consideration by the regulator. And only those with BTC futures exposure have acquired approval.

Following the introduction of ProShares’ ETF for trading on Oct. 19, the price of Bitcoin climbed beyond $63,000 for the first time in months, reaching an all-time high price of around $67,000, according to statistics. Following the opening of the markets today, the price dropped more than 3%, from $63,449 to $61,437.
