S.S.C Napoli is one of Italy’s most prominent professional teams, having been formed in 1926. The historic club, captained by the late world football icon Diego Maradona, won their first Serie A title in 1987. And is presently in first place in the league for the 2021-2022 season.
The Floki Inu emblem will be placed on the back of the football team’s jersey. As well as across LED signs at the team’s home stadium as part of the sponsorship deal with SCC Napoli.
S.S.C. Napoli has negotiated a sponsorship arrangement with the team behind the Floki Inu (FLOKI) token, which was similar to Elon Musk’s pet dog of the same name.
FLOKI wants to become the “most well-known and widely utilised cryptocurrency in the world”
Napoli joins the Floki team’s roster of associated football clubs. Which already includes the Kerala Blasters of the Indian Super League and Cádiz of the Spanish LaLiga. In 2021, Floki seems to be following in the footsteps of the leading crypto exchange FTX. Which has actively sought up a number of major athletic partnerships.
Napoli has not stated whether the sponsorship is a multi-year agreement or how much Floki paid for it. The move, according to Floki’s marketing staff, is part of the project’s goal to become the “most well-known and widely utilised cryptocurrency in the world.”
The Floki Inu emblem, representing a Shiba Inu dog wearing a Viking helmet, will be featured on the back of Napoli’s jerseys. As well, throughout LED signs around the team’s national stadium for the duration of the current season, according to a Nov. 23 release from S.S.C. Napoli.
Since late September, the Floki team remained focused on a “big marketing push,”. With the company claiming to have set aside $1.5 million for advertising efforts. Floki has targeted London as a key destination, with its branding appearing on public transportation in the city. However, the adverts have been contentious, catching the eye of the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) in the United Kingdom.
According to a BBC article published on November 19, the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) claimed it was “going to review a large body of ads in this area” to see if they violated advertising laws about sophisticated vocabulary and misleading information. The Floki Inu team, on the other hand, claimed that its ads were “legitimately cleared”. And included disclaimers about the unpredictability of crypto assets.
FLOKI INU and its popularity raised from advertising campaign
The Ethereum-based token became available in June of this year. And according to Etherscan, there are about 49,461 FLOKI hodlers, with a fully diluted market cap of $1.8 billion.
According to CoinGecko, the price of FLOKI has increased by over 12% in the last 24 hours, to $0.00018840 at the time of writing. With a trading volume reaching around $25.2 million.
The Floki Inu squad also struck an association contract with boxing legend and two-time global heavyweight champion Tyson Fury earlier this month. Fury will appear in the project’s next play-to-earn NFT game, “Valhalla,” as part of the promotional partnership.
