Ozzy Osbourne announced CryptoBatz NFT collection

British rock artist, one of the founders and members of Black Sabbath Ozzy Osbourne has announced the release of a collection of non-fungible tokens (NFT) called CryptoBatz.

Thus, the collection includes 9,666 pixeled images of bats. In a comment to Rolling Stone magazine, Osbourne explained that the design is a tribute to one of his “most iconic moments on stage”. We are talking about a 1982 concert in Des Moines, Iowa when the singer bit off the head of a bat.

“I’ve been trying to get in on the NFT action for a while so when I asked Sharon [Osbourne] for a Bored Ape for Christmas after several failed attempts of buying my own, and she said no, so I decided to create my own [collection],” the musician explained.

Each CryptoBatz can mutate with another NFT from the user’s digital wallet

According to the description, each CryptoBatz can “bite” and mutate with another NFT from the user’s digital wallet. The resulting MutantBatz will allow you to combine the attributes of some projects (Bored Ape Yacht Club, SupDucks, Cryptotoadz). Moreover, the timing of the implementation of the function is not specified.

Aside from the new NFT line, Ozzy has announced that he will launch AncientBatz, a treasure hunt for CryptoBatz owners that will see the virtual Batz distributed over the world in obscure spots.

Unlike its CryptoBatz cousins, each AncientBat will be able to bite up to 100 times; giving them unrivaled power to create 100 MutantBatz. Ozzy’s entry into the sphere of NFTs comes at the conclusion of a year in which the format has been adopted by some of the most well-known performers in the world.

Celebrities and NFT hype

Earlier, Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., an American rapper known as Snoop Dogg admitted that he is a Cozomo de’ Medici; who collected 247 NFT, including nine CryptoPunks. DappRadar estimates it at $17.5 million. Snoop Dogg himself released the NFT collection in March on the marketplace Crypto.com. Among the partners of the marketplace at that time were American rapper K Camp, digital artist BossLogic; English automaker Aston Martin, American pop artist Lionel Richie and others.

In March, Canadian musician and singer Claire Elise Boucher, known under the pseudonym Grimes, sold a collection of NFT at the Nifty Gateway auction for $6 million.

In September, an American rapper, singer, and songwriter Doja Cat released her first NFT collection. OneOf, a green NFT platform, has sold the single edition Crystal Token of its Doja Cat NFT collection for $188k.
