FC Barcelona set to launch NFT soccer moments with Ownix

FC Barcelona has teamed up with Ownix to unveil the introduction of its nonfungible token (NFT) collection, which is aimed at strengthening the club’s relationship to its worldwide fanbase.

According to archival data from Wikipedia, the series will highlight key milestones from the club’s 122-year history, which features a trophy display of 95 domestic and international successes, including 26 national league crowns and five UEFA Champions League titles.

The digital assets will be made available through Ownix’s marketplace, which is planned to be live in the last week of November and will use the platform’s native ERC-20 token ONX.

In an interview with Guy Elhanani, the CEO of Ownix, he elaborated on the partnership.

Will the NFT collection be available to all of Barcelona’s fans right away?

NFTs are quickly gaining traction in the athletic world. Not only because of their rich financial appeal, but also because they provide a way to engage fans and supporters all over the world in more immersive and intimate encounters. Dapper Labs, Sorare, and Socios, to mention a few, have all made significant progress in this emerging field. Cooperating with some of the world’s best professional leagues, teams, and athletes.

Sorare, an Ethereum-based NFT marketplace, has announced partnerships with La Liga, Spain’s top-tier soccer league. In order to debut digital player cards, as well as the Bundesliga, Germany’s equivalent level, to provide digital moments.

Throughout 2021, the platform reported trade volumes of more than $170 million. And it intends to double that amount before the end of the year.

How will the assets be available on the market?

The first five NFTs will be available in the coming weeks at FCB facilities at a minting ceremony. Moreover, the site will provide unique things as NFTs in the first few weeks after it launches. Limited editions and sets will be up for auction in the future as well.
