The Borderless Capital venture company specializing in the Algorand blockchain ecosystem has announced the launch of the Borderless ALGO Fund II. The amount of which is $500 million.
Thus, according to the press release, the fund will invest in “digital assets powering the next generation of decentralized applications on Algorand.”
Among the main directions in the company, the spheres of the non-fungible token (NFT) and decentralized finance (DeFi) were singled out.
This is just the beginning
In June 2019, the firm launched Borderless ALGO Fund I, which initially raised $200 million.
“We started Borderless Capital back in November 2018, even before the Algorand MainNet was live. It amazes us to see how the ecosystem has expanded since then. But we believe this is just the beginning and there is a lot of room to keep growing”; said CEO & Managing Partner at Borderless Capital, David Garcia.
Also, the company manages $400 million in assets through a family of funds focused on Algorand-related projects.

Investing in more than 100 companies
For two and a half years Borderless Capital has invested in more than 100 companies. Among the key ones that received support from Borderless ALGO Fund I: Yieldly.Finance, Reach, AlgoMint, Runtime Verification, HummingBot, HexTrust, Opulous, Six Clovers, Securitize, BlockDaemon, IntoTheBlock, Flare Network, Osprey Funds and many others.
The firm also participates in four acceleration programs for projects on Algorand in Asia, Europe and North America.
Previously, the Algorand team became a strategic partner of Hivemind Capital Partners. Which launched a $1.5 billion fund to invest in the crypto industry. Among the directions are infrastructure solutions, blockchain protocols, open Internet, programmable money and metaverses. In addition to investing in crypto companies, the New York-based firm will trade digital assets and work with the Play-to-Earn concept. Hivemind offers an individual crypto investment platform with the infrastructure that institutions need for risk management, regulatory compliance and security.
